About
Experience Matters
Knowing how to think differently to produce results is core to my DNA. So is making a positive impact.
From co-founding KidsCan, to leading organisations such as For Everyone Foundation (now iSport Foundation), MND New Zealand, Choice Foundation (StandTall) and Coeliac New Zealand, the challenge to pivot from traditional to fresh approaches has been relentless. Not reinvention for reinvention’s sake; rather, taking the learnings and results from each challenge and achievement and applying those to the road ahead. That has made the difference.
I have walked in your shoes, and now I want to help you maximise your impact in a challenging environment with confidence and clarity.
A big-picture, strategic thinker, I bring positive change through innovative and out-of-the-box ideas. My commonsense approach keeps the cause at the heart of everything I do. People know I’m genuine and that I care. I work hard. I don’t always follow the crowd. Whether it’s advocating tirelessly at the highest government level around the issue of child poverty, developing some of the best-known charity programmes in New Zealand, or more than doubling an organisation’s revenue in four years during a global pandemic, I continue to make a difference.
I’ll help you channel your passion to make a difference and maximise the impact you can have. Let’s chat.

Jo Hayes, Grandfriends NZ
“I have collaborated closely with Carl on the principles of governance, management, and their implementation. He is a respected strategic thinker and not-for-profit professional who has led and developed several charities in NZ.”
